Good food and drinks in bar.

key cards had to be re-programmed twice during our stay... parking lot full on saturday nite... but other than that it was great. the doug fir was a great place to go when you didn't feel like venturing off of the 'campus' looking for breakfast. coffee available in the lobby in the morning... stumptown (the town favorite) no less...

the rooms were small and under equipped, they were also not particularly clean and you could hear everything. The front desk service was gruff and barely civil. The idea is a good one but they just need to polish it up a bit, I bit too gritty for my taste. The attached Douglas Fir lounge was excellent, good home-cooking,fab decor and witty, fun staff.

The hotel is great - being next to the Doug Fir is cool - good location too for the cool aspects of Portland. Only bitch was that my room was right next to the Housekeeping Station so I had a lot of nattering/laughing/loud talking filtering in as they went about their tasks jovially. My solution was to turn up my iPod - which the room had speakers for - very cool. The bathroom was a bit tiny and had seen better days. No plug for the sink. Used a balled-up face towel rather than waste water.

The hotel seems to be a beehive of sorts for the young and hip moving into and doing business in this emerging neighborhood. The restaurant and bar are fantastic. The rooms are decorated nicely but with furniture that is too cheap and walls that are way too thin. They need to keep the volume down outside in the wee hours. Ultimately, guests still want to sleep. We wouldn't return unless the place had fixed those problems.

From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, the personnel is extremely efficient, cordial and friendly. The rooms are a dream. Enjoyed it very much and will recommend to friends.

Dont be shy'd away by others complaints of noise. There was a show playing the night we stayed, we hardly noticed it. The room was clean, the food was great and staying here made us feel really hip and modern =) Not the Bellagio, but the price was definately right and the service was excellent. I would definately stay again and again.

Great hotel, Doug Fir was a hip restaurant too. I'd stay there again.

We were looking for a modern hotel. What we got was a former travel lodge decorated with Ikea Furniture. It certainly photographs well. But was a little less than I expected, until I remembered how resonablly priced it was. Our room was above a tattoo parlor and the rooms could be rented for any late night "hook ups" as it was attached to a great music venue/ bar. There should be a way to rate a hotels "edgyness." Luckily, my wife was able to roll with it all and it turned out great. I'd go again, but wish I'd known upfront the personality of the place.

The Doug Fir restaurant is pretty neat and the food was decent. I honestly cannot say I liked any aspect of this hotel aside from the location.

The staff at Jupiter is very friendly and helpful. The food is great and affordable. I will stay there again.

I've never met a more knowledgeable, friendly staff. The rooms were clean and the location was perfect for exploring the city - I especially like being able to walk to downtown.
